Parking Petition! Please be advised!!!

Hello neighbors!

We hope that everyone is doing well!

If you attended the meeting last month, you’re already familiar with an upcoming parking petition. We have been working with Cobb County DOT to get the details of the petition established for our entire subdivision. Many of the details have been determined by the numerous complaints received and by us walking around, looking for solutions. We’ve received information from other subdivisions and asked an abundance of questions to DOT, in order to create a solution that could work best for our community.

We as a community have to do something to ease the efforts of the services that support us. This includes emergency service vehicles, school buses (when in-person school resumes), postal carriers, garbage services, etc.

We have exhausted all efforts to notify everyone within the subdivision of the rules established by the HOA by providing each house:

  1. flyers that lists our website (where the by-laws and covenants are posted)
  2. flyers that have the information on it regarding parking

Unfortunately, we’ve still had residents double parking, blocking mailboxes, etc.

In the next few days and weeks, look out for notices on your door that contain more information and notices on ALL vehicles parked on the street. This is just to make sure all of you are familiar with the upcoming petition for the following changes:

  • No overnight parking on the street, daily (DOT implemented w/ indicative signs).
  • Parking limited to the side of the street where the sidewalks are located (HOA regulated; fines imposed).

The members of the board will be knocking on doors (using social distance and safe measures) seeking the signatures of homeowners. It must be a verifiable homeowner according to Cobb County’s tax records or the signature will be void and will count as an unapproved vote/no. If you’re a tenant, please alert the homeowner of the petition as they will receive their document via mail.

Once the petition process begins, we will inform all neighbors here on the website. We will work in phases so we’ll also indicate that here as well so that you can be aware of the day that we plan to visit your home. We need signatures from 85 verifiable homeowners (they will check) in order for this to pass.

Q: What happens if this doesn’t get enough signatures (85 verifiable homeowners)?

A: A NO PARKING order will be put in motion and there will not be any parking allowed 24/7 throughout the entire subdivision, enforceable by Cobb County Police.

Since there may be times when we want to have family functions, friends gathering, etc., we don’t want to have parking limited so we absolutely need your help with the petition process! Tell a neighbor!

Thank you! Of course, if you have questions, please use the contact link to send us a message and we will get back with you as soon as we can.
